ABOUT AS

As a collector, I feel specially attracted to well-designed and crafted pieces. I can find then in the fair at Chichicastenango, by the Atitlán lake of Guatemala, in Ollantantaybo, close to Machu Pichu, in Tilcara or Purmamarca, in Quebrada de Humahuaca, in the frontier between Argentina and Bolivia, or in the big cities, where architects or designers have been able to incorporate advanced designs into prehistoric or colonial technologies, or the other way around, aboriginal designs into current manufacturing.

I like pieces with history. I like discovering the traces of those who have crafted the pieces. It is often months before I find something that attracts me. But sometimes, a piece of knitting or pottery, a leather and silver bowl, a wooden bowl with bull-horned handles, or a wine box made of nickel silver and crystal coincide exactly with what I am looking for. At that moment, I feel a sense of satisfaction that, though repeated, is still unique. I buy them. I enjoy them. I listen to their story. Sometimes I think there is no reason why I should be the only one to hear them. I buy 3 or 4 similar pieces, or I get in contact with the seller. And then I offer them in my page.
